: Putting Ottawa on the GAP
(New Discover Year website coming soon!)
Could you use some more time to figure out your best path moving forward after high school? Would you like to save some money to help pay for your post-secondary education? Is there another part of the world you would like to visit, but have not yet had the opportunity? If so, and you are a recent high school graduate (or currently in grade 12), the Discover Year could be the perfect solution for you!
Young adults today often hear about the importance of following their passion in life. However, there are very few programs that offer the practical guidance or opportunities to empower them to achieve that goal.
Discover Year's purpose is to do just that: help kickstart young adults search and mastery of their life's purpose.
The objective of this structured gap year is to provide students with a range of enriching experiences that will help shape their education, career and life decisions moving forward. It has been designed to enable them to take the necessary time to reflect upon their own aptitudes, values and interests while stepping outside of their comfort zone. Through an introduction to new challenges and perspectives, this program aims to help students grow their self-confidence and further develop their understanding of what they really want moving forward in life. Additionally, they will be building crucial skills that will help them achieve their goals in their education as well as their career. Furthermore, they will accomplish all of this while earning money and (ideally) saving a significant portion of that income to help pay for their future education!
